Wash Day

When Mom hangs the washing out
To dry upon the line,
I know which jeans are Dad's
And which jeans are mine,
Cause Dad's pant legs are longer
And kick higher in the breeze,
But my little short ones
Only wiggle at the knees.

Piano Practice

C D E F G A B
Piano practice time for me.
Sharps and flats and rests I learn
And when the pages I must turn.
Whole notes, half notes, quarters, eighths,
Each one faster in its pace.
Melodies both new and old,
I play each over as I'm told.
Piano practice time for me.

Cat on the Roof

Our cat climbed a ladder
No one knew why.
She couldn't get down
All she did was cry.
Dad climbed the ladder
To catch that bad cat
He didn't much like it
His frown sure proved that!

Cookie Jar

It doesn't matter how it looks
Or what it is made from,
Or if they come from Elfin cooks,
Or if they're baked at home.
Cookies in a cookie jar
Are very nice to see.
Glasses of milk and cookies are
The best treat there can be.
